Latest Feedback

Secondary School Northamptonshire - June 2013

"The Opal Group was set up in our school as a result of a number of pupils presenting themselves as self-harmers. The school responded via putting on a staff training event led by the school nurse and CAMH’s regarding raising awareness but we also opted for the Opal group for a small number of young people who were self-harming

6 girls took part in the programme and although they sometimes struggled in the group work situation they all began to look at strategies to reduce the potential harm and in some cases stopped cutting completely. 5 of the girls haven’t cut for some time. One young lady shared that she hadn’t cut for 5 months and startegies she’d learned in the group really did help!"
